1957 Jaguar XK-140 Drophead Coupe
with type ’C’ engine

Here are some in process pictures from the shop at Thompson-Machine.

Aluminum cylinder head with high lift cams. Head will be checked for flatness, and then a standard factory valve job will be performed.

Engine was cleaned and inspected to factory specs. Pistons are .020 over with new rings. New rod bearings and oil seals. Flywheel resurfaced and fresh clutch disc installed. The transmission is a 4 speed with overdrive (this is a rare option).

The brake system was restored, including wheel cylinders and shoes relined. Fresh ball joints, boge shocks, rear leaf springs, and grease seals on rear axles. All spoke wheel hubs have been resplined.

The body is fairly rusted, we have new floor pan, trunk pan, rocker panels, and most filler panels including inner quarter panels. Above is a shot of the 1 piece alum hood and deck lid.
